Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurological disorder that targets nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It causes muscle weakness and impacts physical functions, eventually leading to complete paralysis. Despite comprehensive research, ALS remains a disease with no proven cure, yet there are treatments available to manage symptoms and improve patients’ quality of life.
